CONNECT Announces Finalists For

23rd Annual Most Innovative New Product Awards

SAN DIEGO - CONNECT, recognized as the oldest and most successful accelerator in the US, today announced the finalists in eight categories for the 2010 Most Innovative New Product (MIP) Awards. Winners in each category will be announced on December 10th at the MIP Awards Luncheon, held at the Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines, to an audience of over 800 of San Diego's top business leaders.

The CONNECT MIP Awards, San Diego's "Oscars" for regional innovation, continue to showcase locally-developed, cutting-edge products covering a wide range of industries. From life-saving medical technologies to the hottest new clean technology solutions to the latest in action sport equipment, the MIP Awards continue to be an indicator of the industries and technologies that drive San Diego's innovation economy.

"This year we received a record number of new product nominations which proves that San Diego's innovative spirit remains strong in spite of the challenging economic climate," said Duane Roth, chief executive officer of CONNECT. "The finalists represent some of the strongest innovations San Diego has produced to date. They also demonstrate the enormous dedication and perseverance it requires to successfully commercialize innovation today."

The MIP Award finalists were selected from over 100 entries representing a broad range of companies within eight categories. Finalists were selected by industry experts and business leaders through a rigorous screening process. The 2010 MIP Award finalists are:
