PRESS RELEASE - Finder Technologies Signs Patent Licensing Agreement with Orbital LaboratoriesCategory: News and Press | Permalink Published: Monday, October 03, 2011 PRESS RELEASE - October 3, 2011 SAN DIEGO - Finder Technologies, developer of wireless devices and methodologies for keeping track of our most valuable possessions, today announced that it has finalized an agreement to license it's porfolio of patented technologies with Orbital Laboratories, Inc., of San Diego, California. Orbital plans to develop at least three products utilizing Finder's innovations, with the first product due to be sold in the second half of 2012. Finder's patents, filed in the U.S. and internationally, involve wireless techniques that allow handheld devices such as mobile phones and automotive key fobs, to detect and indicate the direction of a small beacon that has been attached to an object or person that the user wants to keep track of and locate without using GPS or other infrastructure-based positional location systems. These techniques provide close-range directional information in common situations where GPS or cell phone network signals are weak or non-existant such as indoors, around tall buildings or underground. When the user needs to locate the child, pet, automobile or other important object, Finder's patented RDF methodology establishes a node-to-node wireless Personal Area Network between the user's handheld device and the battery powered beacon attached to the object. Then utilizing a compact and highly specialized antenna design the handheld device detects and indicates the direction of the beacon from as close as three feet and as far as 1/2 mile away. No other solution on the market today is more accurate or reliable in that critical last half mile. Orbital Labs is a designer, manufacturer and importer of electronic devices made primarily in Asia. Orbital partners with manufacturing and design firms in China and other Asian countries to produce products and bring them to market in the United States. Orbital works with and has a branding agreement for the Orbital name with GreenTech Group Limited, a large manufacturer in China. Orbital currently has plans for developing three products that utilize Finder's innovations, with the first product due to launch in the second half of 2012.
