I used the Auto finder last week after I was traveling for a couple of weeks. I left my car in the airport parking lot and when I returned, I could not remember where it was parked. I am glad I had the Auto Finder with me. I thought I was parked in one section, but when I got there, I couldn't find my car. Once I remembered that I had the Auto Finder with me, I pulled it out and found my car very quickly. It saved me a bunch of time.
Another review on this site said that the device is a little tough to learn how to use. I agreed with that statement initially, but once I watched the instructional video, I found that it wasn't too difficult. I just practiced using it at my condo complex a couple of times and had it figured out pretty quickly.
I would definitely recommend this item to anyone who forgets where they park a lot.

I have said for years that something like this was needed. GPS systems work, but you have to remember to set the GPS before leaving your car. I've only had the product for two weeks or so, but it seems to work well. The instructions say to hold still while using the little detector keychain thing, get the direction, then go in that direction. Hold still while taking another bearing. I had it at the airport the first time I used it, and found my car with no trouble (although I wrote down my location on my parking lot ticket too, just in case).
The keychain detector produces a gentle beeping when it's in use, sort of like a wristwatch alarm. The main detector is about twice the size of a cigarette pack, and is attached with a velcro patch. The sellers even give you an alcohol wipe to clean the windsheld or dashboard with, before attaching the velcro! The in-car device uses a pair of AAA batteries. The keychain device is about an inch-and-a-half square, and powered by two tiny batteries shaped like AAA's, but much smaller, only about an inch long each; they're marked 27A, $6 a pair from Radio Shack. I haven't had the system long enough to find out the durability and battery life, but the function is ok. The docs say that it's useful in covered multi-level parking structures. Haven't tried that yet.
One of my friends suggested, since the main uint is removable with the velco attachment, it could be used to find your way back to your picnic blanket or beach blanket or camp site. The docs say it's good for 1/2 mile range (well, up to 1/2 mile).
